Amidst the perpetual tension culminating from current events, we are seeking a way to bridge the divides between communities through theater and discourse.
The Colors of Community’s Reading Series & Panelist lead discussions is visiting its 2nd of 5 boroughs, BROOKLYN on August 29th 6pm at MoCada. Each event features short plays by various playwrights that consider the diverse viewpoints on current issues and their impact within communities. The plays are followed by open discussions led by a panel representing the topics specific to each event.
Our first event in Harlem discussed the intensifying climate of distrust between law enforcement and community. Our next event in Brooklyn will touch on Civil Rights, Classism, Education, Gender equality, and The Residue of Imperialism.
We hope that you will join us and be heard! Please "pay what you can" with a suggested donation of $5 to help us cover basic costs and to ensure the life of this Reading Series (e.g. rehearsal space, programs). The evening's proceeds go to the nonprofit organization, Developing Artists,"Making a Difference… One Kid at a Time."
